I am thankful to LSD for him taking the time to fabricate a part for our community, but I better get my boots on, because the bullsh*t is getting thick in this thread.

LSD is running a business. He is not making these parts solely out of the kindness of his heart. He seeks a return. I don't see anyone saying, "Greddy, win, lose or draw on the outcome, I appreciate your hard work and attempt to bring a new product to the Z community."

All some people want are some pictures. I'm not one of those people, but I'm sure I'll be begging for pictures when he's closer to production on his FI plenum. I think plenty of people understand exactly what it takes to fabricate a part and run a business within this community, and part of it is dealing with community hassling and backlashes.

I know that I'll be at the dyno day this Saturday with my camera and as long as it's ok with lsdunique, I'll post pics of the new Plenum as soon as I get home Saturday afternoon.

Is that cool, lsdunique?

Dan, I don't think zillinois post is ********. I think your thoughts are misplaced. He is simply expressing his gratitude to a person who is not only trying to make a great product, but he is taking our opinions/ideas/concerns into consideration, and posting to us in a timely fashion. Have other companies done this? Yes. Have people expressed their gratitude in a similar manner? I'm sure if I did a search, they have. Maybe zillinois sees greddy as a faceless corporation (obviously a stretch), and lsdunique as the "little guy" trying to make it? Who knows. Either way, I think it's inappropriate for his gratitude to be called "********" How many people have praised and thanked Doug for his products? Alot.

Just my 2 E^11 cents

Yea you're right, and I apologize to the people reading the thread, because I don't want it hijacked on my account. It's not ********, it's just pretty naive.

I just think that once someone like LSD, who has a good reputation for fabricating parts, lets the community know of a prospective part, then he should understand that he's going to have to deal with a certain measure of curiosity and prying.

I don't think it's fair of him to say that the community is ignorant of how hard it is to do things like this. I think that's a blanket statement and it's ********.

As far as the nameless corporation maybe you're right. But it's those guys that advance the industry as well. Real world commercial is over...

You are not curious and prying dude. You are ragging on someone who is shrugging it off like he should. You are asking for pictures of something repeatedly when you are repeatedly told THERE ARE NO PICTURES SO BE F'N PATIENT. Can't you wait for a few more days? Why do you have to show your immaturity so often, dude? Just relax. You have said numerous times you have already chosen the Crawford so what is your damn hurry to see pictures of something you are not even, apparently, in the market for? Your post is not a commercial in realism it is an announcement of pessimism. STFU.

Real world commercial is over...
Sorry, The Real World: San Diego commercial is over, and the episode is about to resume on MTV, so I am ending my post.

Point taken. I'm just gonna say good luck to LSD on what I'm sure is going to be a superior product. I'm in line for the fully redesigned plenum when it comes out.

Your post is not a commercial in realism it is an announcement of pessimism.
That was a snappy little comeback though. However, just because I have one plenum, it doesn't mean I am not in the market for something. There isn't a war going on between Crawford and LSD. I'm always in the market for an innovative product.

All bark -

Besides the obvious stuff to look for, keep an ear out for the acoustics of the plastic plenum. I'm really wondering what kind of sound it will put out. Also, I know the stock plenum doesn't weight much, but shouldn't this be quite a bit lighter?

I have been told it will be lighter. I guess I can weigh it also. Should not be to much of a problem.

and thanks for the heads up. I will be listening for changes but I will also be adding lsd's high flow cats on friday so I might be prejudice on the sounds.

As far as weight goes, I dont expect much weight savings on this piece if any. The stock piece doesnt have much to it, and our plastic piece has heavier fittings.

The all aluminum FI version has a large weight savings though, I believe it is 15lbs.

Is there going to be information on the release here or will it be posted in another brand new thread? Considering I don't get much of a chance to come on here, I hope it doesn't fall off the front 1 to 2 pages.....

Hahahahaha!! I have both my video and digital still cameras already in my Z!

I'll not only post some pics of the new plenum, but if I can, I'll also get some sound clips for those interested.

I just hope that all_bark is there when I'm there!

Chris,

Very interested in the sound of that plenum. I'm also getting the new crawford plenum from doug early next week and I'm going to post sound clips of that as well for everyone's comparison. I also have dyno time on Wednesday up in Hackensack, NJ if anyone would like to join me for a dyno of the plenum.
