Angry Just installed Berk test pipes...

This would be my first modification done to my exhaust, i do have a JWT pop charger. I installed my Berk test pipes two days ago, the install was pretty easy and I notice a increase in power in the higher rpm range. But i HATE how RASPY and RICERY they sound!, yes they rest of my exhaust is stock and i should have known that these would make it raspy. I should have done a little more research before purchasing them,.I like the loudness of the exhaust now but anything after 3k rpm i can just hear that nasty raspiness... do you guys have any opinion on how to get rid of this raspiness? i should have went with HFC's but i already installed the Test pipes and im not sure if i could sell them locally, so i kind of want to keep them and just modify my exhaust more to make it louder, lower tone and no rasp. I was thinking about getting a resonated y pipe, would that make it sound better and eliminate the raspiness? i do love the sound of the Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 but that is like $1,600 before shipping and i would probably need a tune if i got a full exhaust, and i wouldnt really have anough money for that if i spend 1,600 on a exhaust.
thank you,
Jakoby

should have started with an catback exhaust rather than test pipes. only options:

1) take the test pipes off until you purchase an exhaust, then put it all on
2) purchase a cheaper temporary catback exhaust
3) get hfcs
4) deal with the rasp

You get used to it, I just installed Art pipes and at first I hated the rasp but you learn to live with it. I have a Bassani TD exhaust too..

I have resonated test pipes and the rasp is minimal. Like Bmurray350z said, steps 1 & 2 are the way to go for now.

If I may say, make also sure that the test pipes outlet diameter is not bigger than Y pipe inlet.
If TP exit @2.5" your Y pipe shall be at least 2.5" inlet.

PS: I have kinetix ceramic cat that exit @2.25" and my Y pipe is 2.5"....no rasp and hiss at all!

Exhaust should always come before test pipes. Because there is still the issue of flow. Also you would need and tune with and full exhaust it would net you more HP and Tq but it is not and Need. rarely do people get one just because of an exhaust. It you had header and intake and the whole system upgraded then you should look at getting a tune.

Motordynes as you said have a mean growl. I personally have an AAM single exhaust ant it really scares people. Its and hellious sound and mine has no rasp. There are very few out there that give you a mean sound that have no rasp. But those few are amazing... good luck

Yeahh, that's what im looking for but I want to stay with the dual exhaust. And motordyne is expensive and im probably going to sell this car in a year or two and get a newer on but I can't transfer the motordyne exhaust to an uprev engine:/
