Default Pop Charger won't fit intake tube, what do I need?

So I just got my 04 Z a couple months ago, ~60k miles, and it has some modifications the person I bought it from wasn't able to identify exactly...there is definitely a plenum spacer, 5/16" I presume because the stock strut bar is still there, and an AEM short ram intake.

The intake tube diameter is larger than the stock size, so I'm wondering if there is some adapter available that will allow me to keep the AEM tube but still install the pop charger. If necessary, I can buy another intake tube...but I just am not seeing diameter denotations when browsing tubes. Would the Z tube, for instance, be an appropriate size / still fit onto the plenum even though it's of a smaller diameter than the one currently installed? What's my best avenue here?

Thanks in advance!

Got it, thanks. The MAF is actually connected to the underside of the tube, can't see in the pics but I just verified. So the Z-tube is a good choice? Is there a way to determine which plenum spacer is installed?

You will need more than a Z-tube, you will need the OEM MAF housing as well; which is where the pop charger connects to:

It looks like your filter is washable/reusable (if it's AEM that is) or you can just buy a brand new filter from AEM:

The Z tube connects to the throttle body, not the plenum.
Can you SEE the spacer? You should see a piece of metal
under the plenum sides. You have the stock strut bar.If you have a
spacer,its a 5/16.As already mentioned,if you are installing a Popcharger
(why since you already have a intake?),you will need the OEM MAF housing
to fit the PCGR adaptor/venturi.
Just wondering, how does your car run now?
Filter looks dirty.Clean or replace the filter.

Just keep what you have, if you want to get really crafty, have a velocity stack made to fit the end so you can run a JWT filter

If you want I will trade you for my JWT setup with proper tube.

It runs fine, though it's hard to say because I just had the JWT clutch & flywheel installed 3 days ago and am still feeling out the torque adjustments. Thanks, will clean it.

Yea, what I have is certainly sufficient, I was just mildly interested in the sound / potential boost from the charger. Could you recommend anywhere that could make such a velocity stack...would it have to be custom, or something I could order online? Maybe a socal shop? I'll consider your proposed exchange as an option.

I'm going to take a JWT MAF adapter and bore it out to to slip over the inlet tube ( something like yours ) then weld it onto the end. Mine will probably end up being a 3.5 inch tube all the way to the throttle body.

I don't think you will feel any different performance or sound.
Why go through all this trouble?
Get a new filter, clean up your intake tube. You may want to check your
throttle body.Looking at the filter,I'm thinking the insides could use some
cleaning.

If I were to get a new filter, what size / diameter would it be for this larger tube?

If you just want a new filter, AEM would be the way to go.
