Z1 Plenum spacer review
Thing is bloody awesome! It complements my Nismo CAI well and it seems to amplify the intake sound. Problems I had in the instructions though was when it said I can use one of the oem bolts for #9 screw but none of them fit it, they just dropped right in. I just went ahead without it. Also another problem is there should be instructions regarding how many washers you should use and where to position them for the best strut bar clearance ( got so frustrated because some of the bolts kept popping out every time i hand screwed them in and kept lengthening the strut bar). I ended up not even putting in two of the strut bar bolts in because the threads were starting to cross and getting rounded even though I was hand tightening them so I now only have 3 bolts holding down the bar on each side, I plan on buying new ones to properly have the bar held down but for now it doesn't bother me.
I highly recommend using WD40 or power tools because removing the bolts for the strut bar took up the majority of the time because it felt like they were screwed on by the devil himself.
The Z1 Plenum spacer is a great buy especially for the price at just 158.00 US bones which is a lot better than brand names like motordyne who essentially designed the exact same part but your paying for the brand name to make you feel better for overpaying when the Z1 spacer is out there. Great buy, my Z sounds like an exotic European V8 almost near an Aston Martin and the power gains from the butt dyno was amazing, the car rockets all the way to the redline instead of just slowly dying off like it did before. All for just 158 bucks! I highly recommend over other brands because of the attractive price, the performance numbers are the same as other brands because it is literally the same exact part, and that sweet sound! 9 out of 10 just because Z1 didn't have any recommended instructions about how many washers to use and where to position them. Great buy.

A quick update. My mpg improved slightly along with the power increase which I didn't expect. I usually get 22.8 on the highway but now I'm getting 25 flat with my normal driving habit of setting cruise control at 65mph. This is all without a tune which I plan on getting later with some art pipes.

Go to Z1's website to see there dyno of the non rev VQ's they tested them on and they literally have the same increase in power as the motordyne. The plenum spacers are literally all copies of each other except for additions like thermal spacers and all that. There isn't really much difference in any of them besides the prices since they are all copies of each other. Motordyne might of made the first spacer but the design isn't unique to make much differences from the other plenum spacers as the dynos prove. Your just paying for the brand and pre-attached gaskets.

A Spacer is a piece of aluminum, nothing more.
