Default What's your exhaust setup?

I'm just curious to find out what everyone's exhaust setups are because I'm trying to brainstorm ideas of which routes I want to go with my exhaust system. I've searched and found a lot of good information but I still can't decide. I know I don't want headers because they are extremely hard to install and the power to dollar ratio isn't that good. I'm on the fence about getting test pipes/ART pipes/or Race pipes versus HFCs because I'm afraid of throwing cel or passing emissions but I guess that can be solved by just keeping the stock cats in the garage and replace them every time I go to emissions. I also don't want anything crazy loud and ricey in normal driving conditions. I want my car to sound deep and quiet at cruising speeds and at idle but I want it to sound like a fighter jet when I'm at WOT. I want to make sure I scare little kids and make old people have heart attacks when the gas pedal is to the floor . So just post your setup and your experiences with your setup. If you could record sound clips of your setup that would be sweet too.

I have some modded SRS exhaust I purchased from a user here. Sounds great but could use some HFC for more growl

Berk HFC's with a Bassani exhaust. Quiet when you want it to be and after 3k RPMs it screams with no rasp.

I'm running Berk HFC with Borla TD. Nice low rumble at low RPMs. Gets nice and loud 4k+RPMs. No rasp no CEL. Been running it for 2-3 years with 0 issues. HFCs do add a little hiss sound when the RPMs drop but nothing while you're accelerating.
I had Pop charger installed and really liked the sound, but after a year I was getting random CEL on hot days so I swapped the pop charger for the stock airbox and a K&N drop in filter. No more CELs.

Momentum catless Y-pipe and OEM catback. I don't want anything loud and you don't gain much with catbacks on a N/A VQ anyways.

I strongly believe in the TDX2 + ART setup. I don't throw a CEL with the ART's, and for emissions just throw your cats back on for a day.

Sounds 10x better in real life.

stock headers --> test pipes --> APS 2.5" true dual with x-pipe welded in and resonators taken out

Here's what it sounds like as-is taken from a 370Z with a GoPro:

OP race pipes ARE test pipes

I've decided to be going MD everything except I want test pipes for more power.

BUT I heard the ART's make more power than TP's any body got dyno numbers to show ART vs Test Pipes? or a thread link. Already searched btw.

Thanks.

I don't have a side by side comparison, but I can tell you that bolting on ART pipes made +8.83whp and +4.86 tq on a DE (https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...art-pipes.html), and personally on my HR gained 8.17whp and +11.59 tq.

Stock cats (for now) GReddy Evo II with resonators cut out.

I want to get ART pipes or Berk HFCs but I don't want to have ANY rasp/rice so I'm nervous about the set up.

When I had my Greddy RS Exhaust (same design as TI-C), I didn't like the pairing with ART's at all in terms of volume. Taking out the silencers, I literally drove a couple of meters, pulled over, and threw them back in - It was that violent. It actually made me switch the Greddy - not sure how the ART would pair with the EVO II.

Headers aren't as hard to install as everyone makes it out to be.

Momentum Headers, Motordyne ART pipes, Motordyne XYZ w/resonator, Momentum Dual.

Perfect sound IMO. Nobody has the exact setup I do. If you're concerned about emissions but still want it loud at WOT and quiet under cruise, I would definitely suggest getting the ART pipes and XYZ. The modular section is way easier to swap in and out. You could easily pick up the HFC section and swap it on for emissions testing if they use a sniffer.

On a side note, if you get the TDX2 you can also order the optional HFC midpipes during your order, or after (after being more expensive since you get a new set of midpipes).

I have Nismo Headers, Nismo S-Tune Cat-Back, and Beluga Racing (ebay) resonated test pipes.

After initial start-up, the car can barely be heard. But cruising around town, theres a nice low growl. A slight drone between 2.5 and 3k, but nothing unbearable. And after that, it's just pure music.

All of it is paired to a Nismo intake and 5/16" plenum spacer.

Sorry, this is the only video I have as of right now...."HD" phone quality
