Anyone know where I can get ROLLED stainless steel tips to replace the titanium tips on HKS replica/HKS/Godspeed/.. exhaust? I believe they are 4.5".
the only ones I see that look nice are on ebay that have a 2.5" inlet or some form of inlet which needs to be welded, which won't work with HKS especially because the end opens up like a mushroom.

If I cant find it, I'll have to order one of these and have to pay someone to cut the inlet off, grind it down, drill a hole, find bolts and a nut.. lot of work for tips. But the titanium burnt look, gotta go. not a fan. And not a fan of flat metal, rolled looks classy and exotic IMO.

Anyone know where I can get these?


Also, does anyone know how you can lower the HKS mufflers especially when it's touching with a rear diffuser? There's a picture on G35driver I found when I did a search but it's SUPER tiny. Cant see anything. basically the top of the tips are touching my rear diffuser.. It was painted nice and mirror finish, dont want to burn it off.

 

Do you have the replica exhaust tips that you're trying to replace or do you actually have the true HKS exhaust??

Cause the HKS exhaust tips shouldn't rust or chip, as they are actually titanium rolled vs the replicas which are just "covered" with a titanium like finish! I had the replicas and replaced/sold the exhaust in 3 months cause the fake titanium started to chip/rust/whatever low quality exhausts do.

So I guess if you have the fake ones try and get tips that are actually rolled and not covered to look as if they are titanium.

Like the stock ones. The HKS one, even the genuine one are not rolled, but they are true titanium. I actually dont want it to be titanium or flat metal so I don't want to keep the tips even if the titanium was a good finish.
Basically i want the stock exhaust tips look and I would just cut them off and try to make them fit but unfortunately I dont think it would work. Plus dont want to mutilate a perfectly good OEM exhaust.

 

Doesn't matter real or fake, the burned tip will fade.

 

I actually want rolled tips myself, it would have a nicer looking finish.

 

Yeah, that was the only downside to changing my stock exhaust for an aftermarket. The tips aren't rolled but "straight cut". If I find a solution I'll post up so people can see.

A good example is the s2000 stock OEM tips. They are bolt on/slide-on tips. Unfortunately they're smaller maybe 3.5 or 4" so they won't for my exhaust.

 

plenty of rolled 4.5 tips all over ebay.. youll need to cut n weld if you want rolled.
cutting off the stockers is a better idea, stock exhaust resale is nonexistent.. worthless.

i have real 100% ti tips and the color is not fading at all.. its absolutley perfect still, i keep em clean dont use anythng other than glass cleaner on them.

thanks, yeah looks like i have to cut and weld. the problem with the hks exhaust though is that if you cut it, it could be visible from certain angles which was why I wanted the slide-on/bolt-on type. but maybe not. I'll have to take a look.
I personally dont like the titanium look, esp on a black car because on my car with the diffusers and the shading, it just looks like it's dirty or covered in soot. I think im going to sand the blue off and polish the tips and if I still want rolled, I'll order some on ebay.

 

Pretty sure my buddys Amuse R1 Titans haven't faded in the past 3 years so quality matters. Not saying they won't tho. Its just that the fake ones chipped and faded within at least the first 2-3months I had them (and I polished and protected them after washes at the end of every month.)

I have HKS Rep exhaust and want to change the tips. Would the Motordyne Premium Ti Blu Rolled Exhaust Tips work? They have 3" inlet.
Or do i need only 4.5in all around and just slide n play?
