Default Tomei Ti Expreme VS SOHO Motorsports Single

I need help deciding... I'm torn.

Which exhaust should I replace my current Bassani True Dual setup with? Tomei or SOHO?

Keep in mind:

1. Tomei will require me to dramatically cut into the underside of my Mastergrade CF Diffuser to fit the muffler.

2. SOHO will require only a minor modification to the diffuser to fit (MUCH better fitment).

3. Price-wise, I can actually get the Tomei Ti Expreme for just about the same cost, possibly slightly less even.

4. Weight-wise, Tomei is only 9lbs lighter.

5. Design-wise, SOHO's Y-pipe looks better.

I would consider Motordyne's single exhaust or JIC Ti single, but can't find anyone who has either for sale.

Don't buy the soho. Way overpriced. What about a XYZ pipe with resonator and Agency power? Or XYZ pipe with Tomei y pipe back.

What ride height are you at?

I'd recommend Motordyne y-pipe w/resonator to the Tomei exhaust...I say that because depending on ride height a y-pipe could take a beating, amd welding Titanium is expensive and probably not a local shops expertise

+1 on the XYZ with whatever setup you choose to go with. My reasoning being that you get the choice between 3 modules (straight, resonator or HFC) with an easy swap.

SOHO is a rip off, yeah it sounds good...but not good enough to justify what they're charging for a bunch of off the shelf "vibrant performance" components. I'm sure the welds and quality are top notch, but there is no way (including labor costs) it is genuinely worth what they're charging. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING you can get a Tomei titanium setup for about the same price.

Looking at the Tomei setup the only notable/major difference is that the SOHO has that built in reducer piece in the y-pipe. Which I'm very skeptical of any R&D on other then auditory, which is not the case with the Tomei unit as their research is very well documented. When I contacted SOHO they couldn't provide me any information on development other than a car made more power with it when dynoed.

Oops, I posted this in the wrong section... I have a 350z lol. Anyways, I recently found out that I can't put the Tomei on my car, reason being I'd have to do this:

It looks like it could be made to work, but I don't want to deal with modifying the Tomei exhaust. SOHO exhaust fits the diffuser.

I vote for Tomei. If you ever decide to sell it, the Tomei will sell in a heart beat.

It sounds like you have made your decision. Although I think SOHO is overpriced as well. Get what fits and if you can afford and want it, buy it. It does sound good, but personally I would just built it yourself. Goto stainless works and purchase the bends you need, amazon to get the muffler and resonator and call it a day. Find someone who is a decent tig welder and have them mock up and built it for you. You'll spend less than 600 for something like this.

Ya, I ended up going with SOHO. I'll have the exhaust on next Saturday and do a before/after dyno comparison versus the Bassani exhaust currently on the car... if it shows gains then I'll be happy considering Bassani showed solid gains before/after untuned when I initially purchased it.

Tomei could be made to fit, but you need someone that can weld titanium to re-route it slightly... PITA, and extra money for that.
