Default Header help!!!

Hey guys I've been browsing the market for some good shorty headers and stumbled along these http://www.protuninglab.com/03ni35in...d=140848870138. My question is has anyone done this set up, and if there are better suggestions for shortys please post them up. Thanks guys👍

What would you suggest? I dont want to go the long tube route, and a good sound + good gains is always good.

only option for good gains in PPE longtubes. Shorty headers will sound even worse and don't give much gain.

Well I have test pipes and absolutely love the car when it hits 35k-4k. I'm about the same level of loud as 2010 gt mustang with headers and full straight pipes. I'm a real sucker for a loud good sounding car. But back on topic is there no suggestions for shortys?

I dont think anyone bothers because they are such a pain to install unless pulling the engine. However the Z1 headers look like some nice pieces... Borla have been known to crack, and DC seems like the cheapest option in name brand shortys...

Let us know how the installation goes.

Headers are the one thing you do NOT want to cheap out on dealing with the exhaust. As they are a long install, fitment issues even with name brand headers, and also don't want to have to replace a cracked header.

DC headers are probably the cheapest best option. Megan and TopSpeed are cheaper although there are conflicting reviews on some cracking and not fitting whiles others have no issue. There are some other headers(not ebay) although they are harder to find.

Before headers, I loved the rasp the stillen exhaust+TPs produced. After headers, 3k-4k rasp that I once loved is now hated. The sound changed completely and not in a good way.

btw, i spent 3200 to get about 18 whp. these cars are expensive as hell to get real hp out of

mods were (on an 08) intakes, art pipes, tdx2 and tune.....do the math, that is $177 per 1 whp

if youre set on short headers just buy any that you want. theyre all the same.. just the ebay crap ones like the ones you linked may crack due to lower quality materials and welds. You can buy DC short which are decent for 350-400 but will give you all of 2hp. then spend 1300+ more on the PPE's later which will give the best gains and go through the crappy install multiple times.

Seems like cost is the real issue here since you keep linking those china headers over and over. But it's your car and you should just mod it as you see fit. If you're set on those, just buy them.

I recommend the Tomei V2's - they made about 10 WHP when I had my car dyno'd and the sound is awesome.

Be prepared to spend about $1500 for the headers and install.

Currently installing those exact ones along with Megan resonated test pipes. The holes where the headers bolt to the heads were about 1/16" off and I sent them pictures and instead of sending me new ones they wanted me to ship mine back to them (at their expense) and they would order a new set and compare to see if there were any differences before deciding to send me a new set. I paid a machine shop $80 to bore the holes out to 9/16" (~1/8" larger) which should give me plenty of wiggle room to get them on. I'll find out tomorrow.

The install isn't the hardest I've done but is one of the biggest pains in the ***. No room and more frapping coolant lines and random bolts to undo and move out of the way. Hell that's harder than actually breaking the manifolds loose and getting them out of the car. I spoke to 3 shops and had two quote me $800 and one a $1000 to do the install. Basically 8-10hrs of labor which I'll believe. I'm ~5-6hrs into it and I'm just now ready to put them back in and start reassembly.
