Plenum or Hi-Flow Cats?
I'm thinkng of getting either the Kinetix manifold or a set of the Hi-Flow cats. I'd like to get a few personal opinions on which you think would be the better choice and why. I know dyno numbers seem to be relatively similar for both, but I'm just curious if there might be a con to either that I'm not aware of. TIA! ( I know the best would probably be both together, but don't have the cashflow for both right now)
Thanks

I was tackling this decision for a couple weeks, but have decided to go with both (good package price). If I were you, I'd snag the plenum now, since they have a $50 price break going currently. Then you can wait and see if they do a price break on the cats.

Plenum = top end power while cats = all the time power..
Plenum make redline come faster while cats make the car feel 200 lbs lighter.. Its had to explain but both are diffrent kinds of power.. It just depends on what kind your looking for. Plus the cats will make your exhaust not a tab bit louder and deeper but not much..
Hope this helps..

Personally, I am doing the plenum and then waiting a while for the cats. I don't think that my wife would appreciate the cats on the car (she hated my mustang that had high flow cats and Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers). I have been researching the cats for a little while now and it seems that they aren't going to add much to the sound on a stock exhaust, so......we never know where that will go to!!!

I might have to disagree with that. When I installed the Plenum right after 5ish K the car was MUCH stronger and noticed it very much since there is a nice 15ish HP increase.. As far as the Cats when I installed them the car just felt lighter. It gave it more of a quicker sence. They are totaly diffrent as far as kind of power. So if you want to feel faster all the time when normal driving then Cats are for you. If you feel your car die a lil at redline and like to race or just drive fast then the Plenum is for you.. But either way you WILL NOT LOSE!!! Im sure you will eventually get both as we all seem to but its your pic as in what you want you mod to be..

That's great to hear. I have the Plenum installed and I can DEFINITELY feel a difference throught the entire RPM range so if you are saying that the Cats give the "biggest" butt-dyno increase then I can't wait!! I just need to find a way to get my baby in to you guys to get the cats installed. Weekends are pretty much all I have available.

The Plenum is by all means a DIY'r. I don't want to sound like I have a big head at all, but if you follow the directions on my plenum installation instructions site, you should not have any trouble getting it installed in an hour at the most.
As for the CATS...
I was really hoping that I could install those myself, but all I have are ramps and a cheap little 2 ton jack with some jack stands and even with the car lifted, there just isn't much space under the car and personally, I don't feel too comfortable crawling under the car when it's on stands.
I was quoted $120 for the CATS to be professionally installed. It's worth it IMHO.
