We have a solution we are finalizing here today/this weekend to the torque problem. While we personally havent had any problems, we think more "headroom" and a larger margin for error should be allowed. I will make an official post.

I cracked one too, but it was before the torque specs came out. Had I read them, I probably wouldnt have overdone the force (which I tend to do).

I would install the plenum myself and could probably do it without cracking it, I'm sure. But it does sound a bit fragile especially for $400. If I took my car to the dealer for engine reasons and they had to remove the plenum, I'd say the likelihood of them cracking it is pretty good. If you (or anyone) can live with this, go for it. I’m just a bit uneasy about the potential of it cracking during an installation.

I understand your concerns andthey are very valid and I also agree with these concerns. While you don't want to worry about the install, we don't want to worry about your install as well.

I have posted a thread regarding an update to eliminate this worry.

well I got mine installed I used a thin film of permatex red to give the flange a better seal and I didnt have any problem at all...but I did find the gaskets going from the RT cats to the y pipe were blown out so I replaced them with some better all metal ones ......I also ran a ground from the Throttle Body to the engine to cover all bases...I reconnected the battery and turned the ignition on for 10 seconds off for 10 on for 10 and off again....I am very impressed with this plenum.....it stays luke warm and never gets hot .....which I think would help by allowing cooler air in....I recommend it....

Glad to hear your install went smoothly, I hope you read my post about a revision offer, although you seem to have everything under control. Did you use an actual inch/lb torque wrench or did you just use finesse?

Glad you are happy with the product, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please email me at jamisonl@msn.com

Indunique, my install is complete. VERY satisfied. Had the $69 torque wrench from Sears. Per our conversation, started at 20 inch pounds, ran engine for a few minutes, had NO leaks. Tightened to 36 inch pounds and again NO leaks. A fellow "Z" owner and I decided to celebrate with a couple glasses of wine. Thus, things were allowed to dry for a couple of hours. Took it around the block. NO leaks! Sounds, AWESOME! Using "Butt Dyno" as a measure, more PONIES. Will put it too a thorough test tomorrow.
