Default Got Crawford headers & cats....

What a fun 2 days! I just got back from a little roadtrip down to CrawfordZ in Nashville - had the Crawford headers & cats installed & all I can say is WOW! With my Nismo exhaust, this stuff just screams - ha! No unruly raspiness...just lots of deep throaty roars & some new found torque from 3k+ RPM. The Z just keeps pulling & pulling & pulling - so much fun.

As for the installation....there's NO WAY I could've done it myself - limited time, no lift. John @ Crawford's had it done in about 5-6 hours and it was a joy to watch - even when my engine was lifted out of the engine bay about 6-8" - whoa! Doug & his crew are a great group of fellas - knowledgable, friendly, and a lot of fun to hang out with. To Doug, John, fellow-Z dudes Adam, Chris & Mark - thanks for the fantastic time, the laughs, the wings (yummy!), and the Z-input. Can't wait to hook up again next month @ Z Attack IV. Also, I'm coming down the 26th for the next install - gonna have it polished!

Adam - don't forget my LED's - I'll have something nice to trade you.

Thanks guys, Jack

What do they charge for header installs? I started once on that project and decided, this is one thing I do not want to bother with.

Default Lucky for once.........

Yea - Lucky for once livin' here in the plains - ha!

teh215 - Crawford charged $300 for the headers & cats installation....and it was worth every penney! I think that's a great price for the work involved. And the headers & cats looked great before the install - pieces of art to me.

Here's a shot of one of the hand-crafted headers after powdercoating.....

You have to lift the engine to get the headers on? I think somewhere I knew that......

Default You don't HAVE to.........

No, you don't have to lift the engine - there's been several members who have installed their own headers, but from what I've read it's taken some quite a few hours and an extra set or two of hands to get it done without lifting the engine. After watching the install process at CrawfordZ on mine, I have nothing but respect for those individuals. John & Doug discovered a while back that by lifting the engine off the motor mounts, the process is quite a bit easier (also having a lift helps - ha!). As I mentioned, the job took 5-6 hours to complete & was perfect.

Here's a shot from under the car after the headers were installed......

That's a great price, for a 5-6 hour job.

Default Cory........

Cory - It was great meeting you all as well. Your Lemans w/ orange interior was absolutely fantastic! I'll be down again the 26th for more bling & just sent in my registration for the Z Attack. Will have the new Nismo wheels & Eagle F1 GS-D3's on and the sways when I'm down the 26th. We ought to hook up again then for sure!

Jack
