AEM INTAKE=Poor Filtration?
Has anyone taken off their AEM intake and noticed dirt inside the intake piping? I realize some is bound to get past the filter but it was pretty close to being sludge inside the lower pipe (one directly connected to the filter). Not a lot, but more than I would have hoped. Started tracing back and sure enough the throttle body was starting to get a nice film of dirt on it. I immediately took everything apart, cleaned it and then changed the oil but the damage is probably done. I havent been doing any rally driving or driving through water or anything else which I feel would contribute to the amount of dirt I found. I am wondering if the filter supplied wih the AEM is just that poor.

I believe this is normal. Most people get a catch can. It's not just AEM but all. Do a search for catch can.
