Default DC Sports Headers Info

Guys, I don't know if this is completely true but, last week I called NOPI and got quoted $336 for the DC Sports stainless headers. I decided to order today and they told me DC had the wrong prices out on those. Makes sense since the 4 cylinder Honda headers are about $320.

Their new price....$621 for stailess. This is more in line with what's already out there.
I called Summit racing and they still have them for $356.95. So, if the price change is true, get them while they are cheap!!!

I was under the impression that these headers were going to be under $500.

The $621 is probably the MSRP. They will probably actually be alot less. Either way, I am with sschmuve, I don't see these making enough of a difference to justify the amount of work involved to install them.

Looking through DC's web site, the MSRP is listed at $906.25. So, I believe the prices have probably shot up. Usually products don't sell for 1/3 of MSRP and if you look at their Honda/Acura headers, they run about the $300 mark.

You got the ceramic coated ones, those are now at NOPI like $500. The stainless are $600+.
You can go to their web site and cheack out. That bites. I remember when I first saw the price on these at $350 thinking "how come the Acura/Honda headers are as much as the 350z since these require 2 headers instead of 1?"

Yep Nopi raised their pricing on the DC Sport headers. There are other distributors that are offer the headers for $300-$385--

Where did you get that impression? I gained 12.5 rwhp with them on my bone stock Z. They dyno charts have been posted several times in other threads.

I really think there is a misconception about horsepower gains in many forums. People go out and put high flow cats, exhausts, manifolds, intakes, etc and expect to get 100 horsepower. When in reality the more you do to a car the less you can expect to gain. So a guy with high flow cats, plenum, intake, etc goes out to a dyno after installing headers and gets an extra 5 horsepower and concludes that the headers did nothing.

There is also a very large tendency for us to rely on horsepower to account for all of our mods. In reality, we must look at torque curves, 1/4 mile times etc to get a realistic impression of what happens after mods. It is just not enough to look at horsepower to make conclusions about mods.

Anyone ever ordered anything from IRP? $360 for stainless and free shipping; hard to beat that.

I am having my G sedan dynoed within a couple of weeks. I have the Ingen CAI with Greddy exhaust. I will later dyno with DC Sports and high flow converters. The reason I won't dyno with just headers is because they are such a PITA to install. At least it will give everyone some kind of idea on the combination of the parts.

They were free. DC did the install free as well to test fit final production versions.

I would challenge any of you guys to get these headers, stainless or ceramic coated, for anywhere near those prices......not going to happen. I would bet none of those guys even have the headers to sell, let alone sell at that price.

That's why I think you are always best sticking with vendors on this board - none of us are unfair in our pricing at all, and we not only provide a service by supporting this site, the site also makes us accountable.....

The fact that I have not seen a single photo of the headers on any site that is selling them makes me kinda suspicious as well that they do not have the headers to sell.
