Default intake idea

how would a hks mushroom air filter with a aluminum intake tube perform you guys think??? or even the mushroom at the end of a cai tube, at my shop we use it on our turbo and non turbo cars and the desighn looks good so let me ahve some feed back

I hate mushrooms, especially raw......never had any on my car though! What exactly is a "mushroom filter"

jerry-rigged intakes look like crap. you would do better gettingone of those cheapo ones off of e-bay. save up a few bucks and get a JWT popcharger.

I made my own custom intake, cars pulls HARD!! and the sound is amazing, HKS is bad ***!! and paid less than any intake out in the market...

That metal strap "supporting" the intake does not look very good...

I think he's talked about his intake gains before in a thread, and the bar holding the intake is just like the JWT design

stock the air intake is sealed off from the engine bay, which I think most would consider preferable. as it forces the air to come from the bumper area which is cold and slightly pressurized at high speeds. this is possibly 1 reason why CAI's show very little gains as its sucking the same cold air.

but to remove that and add a filter like that... it would be sucking hot air from the engine bay. and no pressure coming in.

doesnt seem like itd be a better design, but I guess reality doesnt always follow rules, could be something else happening.

Those tend to work "alright" on turbo app's...

Though on your engine, purely NA, you will benefit from a velocity stack found within the intake itself.

JWT, etc... have such a thing. Check into it.

I think you're just "feeling" the new sound.
