Question modified pop-charger

Hi everyone I wanted to see if any of you have any ideas of bettering the pop-charger setup. The intake allready kicks all other intakes a#@, but mabe if we added an aluminum tube, or a better heat guard.

I know people have done things like this I just want to know what works the best..

just add a long tube in place of the stock one. dont waste your time/money on heat shields they do nothing really to add to the performance or intake temps of the cai.

In my opinion, a metal tube is a bad idea. While it looks good and would be fine for making dyno numbers, it will get heat soaked if you're running hard. I know I do some mountain runs out here and staying in the powerband for 15 minutes will make the whole engine bay nice and toasty. I've heard the whole 10 degrees = 1% hp, and whether that's the right number or not, I know a metal pipe will be hotter than plastic.

Now, for looks, chrome is so nice, or maybe someone could make a CF tube (don't know if that's possible though). Of course, you could ice a metal pipe on a dyno or the track too...

Get the Injen metal tubing, then use heat rap tape around the tube.

I used to have this Carbonio CF Intake on my old GTI. It was cool looking. I didn't really care bout the HP gain, just the sweet look of a CF CAI. I amazed the ricers.
