I can only respond from experience with the Crawfords. Great workmanship and fit. They sound great, no rasp, and do give you a kick in the butt. The sound at idle is not much louder than the stock cats, but they wail at WOT. I've read that there are fitment issues with the Kinetix cats, but nothing negative other than that. I'm extremely pleased with my choice.

So all in all you are happy with the cats in regards to the dollar to HP gain rartio? As an estimate how many HP do you think you gained?

just installed my kinetix cats today, great craftsmanship nice welds and a lot lighter than stock cats. The fit was pretty solid right off the bat and they arent much louder than stock unless you are in the 3000rpm + range, then they really scream with a nice tuned tone with my Injen exhaust. As for raspiness, there is none

moris i have seen that the Crawford to give you a better flow than Kinetix. BUt i think crawford is better, because it give better flow (higher hp gain? ) and no fitment issue, better quality.

So my Crawford cats is coming soon.

Well I have personally had BOTH of these cats on my car.

First I had the kinetix. I am going to start by saying that I probably had a defective pair because most people do not have the problems I had.

Power: Didnt really feel any...

Problems : bad fitment, lots of rasp, and they cracked, both of them!

Fitment: Touched the heat shields, streatched the 02 sensor wires, and the bracket that connects to each cat barley fit at all.

Rasp: From 3,500-4,500 RPM there was a god awefull amount of rasp.

Cracking: They both cracked where the mounting points are for that bracket mentioned earlier. This in turn threw the SES light and they had to be removed.

AGAIN! I have shitty luck with everything, and I have not heard of anyone else having these problems.

I do not want to discredit Kinetix at all because they are a great company and I did experiance that awesome customer service that everyone talks about.

CRAWFORD:

They are not quite as loud as the kinetix which kind of disapointed me but that's ok.

Power: DEFFNITLY FEEL THE POWER! Upper end power is great with these.

Rasp: There is a very small, very mellow amount of rasp from 3.5-4k rpm. Most people dont get any, but some do. It really isnt very noticeable.

Fitment: MUCH BETTER!

Interesting that we are paying around $400-$450 and more for HF cats, you can buy some universal cats (carsound, which some of these cats are anyway) for much cheaper and get a muffler shop to custom some flanges to fit. This is a whole lot cheaper than any of the cats on the market, after all, flanges don't cost $300.

I've seen the Crawford cats in both the design stage and production. It's not a simple cut and paste (weld), and that's why there are no fitment issues. Alot of time and expertise went into getting them right in the first place; don't know if you could expect same results on a one-off basis at a muffler shop. Plus the fittings are stainless.

Cannot speak to anyone else's product, but these are correct if you read the posts on this subject.

Default Crawford's Pass Smog??

Do the Crawford cats pass Smog/Inspection? The website says they are for offroad use only, and Kinetix claims there's will pass smog. Important for us in Cali!

Oh, I am not trying to be negative against a particular manufactor. But the point has to made by someone, just as well be me, lol, you can get carsound cats for $150, yet these cats are all running $450 shipped. We are not talking a total custom exhaust system, which is risky as far as the power output you will get from it. We are just talking flanges that is the extra part here.

Kinetix, Ultimate Racing, among others use carsound cats. Am I the only one that thinks this price is a bit steep?? Surely not.....we are talking $300, which is significant in my mind, a muffler shop could do that for a fraction of the price. Of course, I have not made up my mind on the cats situation for me personally, but I put forth alot of research before I make any purchase. Of course, I could just be nuts.......lol

I ordered the Kinetix cats and somehow they messed up the order and sent me the test-pipes with resonators. I ended up installing/keeping the test pipes...
