AEM Engine Management System
Is this a good system because in all the lastest mags I have gotten must cars running up there in the high horsepower are using them. Its seems like it would be better then the Greddy e-manage to use with the turbo kit. Want to know because before I do any F/I I want a good fuel system setup. No flaws is what I am going for. What would be a good fuel setup any recommends?
When AEM does come out with a unit, do you think it would be better then most fuel piggybacks? Its just every turbo mag I see with supra's running 800hp+ have them on there cars. I think it would be better then the emanage from things that I have heard on the site about the emanage. What would be a good fuel setup right now to run if trying to get 400hp+?
better how? in the right hands yes..if you have never tuned standalone before then its not better than the other 900 standalones out there. You'll likely hate every one you try unless you have experience with ecu programming

So what you trying to say is that any unit can do anything it just matters who tunes it? That sounds a little like bull to me. I agree with you about who tunes it matters, but it also matters what unit use will be using. If I heard right on this forum people have said that the emanage acts up when using big injectors. And what is wrong with the AEM unit. Does it scare u because its so complex. Thats what u want if it is going to do it right the first time. I don't want to have to keep trying different units out to finally get a good one, why not get a good one first. There is a guy that does tuning around here that is awesome. He had a stock ZC Turbo Civic running 25psi and ran it a couple of times at the NOPI Nationals and won. They called it the unbreakable because no matter that it was running everything in the engine stock except the fuel system, it was running 11's easy. Finally it blew up when he started adding some other stuff too it, but it goes to show he only spent $200 for the little civic junkyard find, and another $3000 for the ZC and turbo/fuel setup. I can believe me or not, but come around this area, and everyone that knows him or knows cars will tell you about this unbreakable civic. Lasted 2 months before blowing, but won tons of money with this civic in the process.

Usually the base program...especially in the AEM "plug and play" is pretty decent. But yes....Z1 is right...it takes many many hours of dyno and road tuning to get it right.
Personally, I dont see the need for full stand alone until you are pushing upwards of 600whp. The eManage is extrememly capable,and probably the best piggyback unit out there for the 350Z. Mohd is running a 760whp Supra with an emanage! unreal! Read more into the eManage and some of the F/I posts...you'll see what I am talking about.

I have no problem with the emanage, but there have been posts on this site with people trying to get the emanage to work with bigger injectors and having problems. I think the emanage is a good product for the price and also because they give it with the TT kit. I just want to know will it be able to hold the fuel A/f right when going up in the 500-600+ranges?
The AEM unit will do much more that any piggy back. Besides giving you full control over fuel and timing curves, you should see what this thing does for traction control. My buddy just put one on his Viper and it amazing how fast the car exits turns now. You can also do cool stuff like custom boost curves. (i.e. run 15psi up to a certain RPM then trim down the boost to 7psi at redline.)
Thanks for your support on the AEM unit. Finally someone who likes to really tune a car properly. Piggybacks are good but when going that extra mile they are like cheap boxes that are a waste of time. From what I here on this forum most people want around 600hp+ on there Z so why not just go with this unit first.
