The best headers for HP??
Thanks Jason. SEE! It pays to just sit here constanty monitoring this web site...trolling for information and the occassional bargain!
:) hmm. my smile thing doesn't work. I think I need to look at my account thingy.
And the Performance website even had good things to say about the DC ceramic headers.

Like I said in the earlier PM...I am expecting mas dinero to be finally coming in (it's a good thing when invoices get paid) & I will decide which exhaust route to go...prolly will be Nismo. I then have you install the (hopefully) new DC headers & an new exhaust.
:) :) i'm so stupid, i can't make the smiley things pop up. i'm just a poor low tech guy.

Jealous WP?Jason, I heard the Nismo exhaust today at Gainesville Nissan. It sounded kind of stock to me; do you think it does, too? But I must say, the quality of it looked very superb to me.
Headers + cats + Nismo exhaust = Monster sound @ WOT.
I did the Nismo exhaust first & the sound became deeper & more throaty especially at 4k+ RPM. But, when the headers & cats were added, the sweet sound became a sweet ROAR - I love it!!

Sorry Jason. My box said it was at 16%. I cleaned it out to 11% so I hope it will work now. Last time it stoped PM's at 20%. Strange.
What helps get the exhaust sound a little louder, Cats or the Y-pipe? The Headers helped very little.

If you live in a envrionment that has alot of salt in the air or has alot of salt on the road in winter I would not recomend a ceramic coated header...
go with stainless steel if you plan on using the headers for the life of the car...
with summits price... i believe they are sold out... im curious to see what happens when they get the real price guide for DC's headers...
we will have them in stock when they do and we have them in stock now...

i dont remember the exact reasoning behind it... but i remember talking with someone about heat wrapping the rear section of the mid pipe to keep from overheating the half shaft to keep it from breaking... and they were afraid of the heat wrapping over heating the exhaust system...
You were mis-lead...
... and for the majority here, it will NEVER effect them.
Maybe some of the FI guys/gals, but that's about it. Even then, it's not the exhaust they need to worry about getting hot, it's the engine itself...
If your headers are "over-heating" it's too late. For example BJs pictures of the headers he had glowing red... ironic he started blowing motors after that right? That much heat is an indication of running WAY too lean.

I do not know what they ended up doing to fix the problem... but... yes it wont effect everyone... but I cant talk in detail of the problem or even exactly what the problem is... and I know you dont know the details of it... but it is not a problem that a street car will ever see...

I cant talk about it why a case of the exhaust getting a few degreese too hot caused a problem...
but... 99 percent of the cars on this board to not have to worry about the problem...
