Default full exhaust setup question

Hey guys i need your say on this. How would the borla headers, crawfords cats, and the injen dual exhaust be for hp and torque gains. Is this a good setup to go with.

Thanks Glen

Skip the Borla headers as they said it doesn't make any power. The rest are good.

I just put on xerd full header/test combo with full borla cat back/true dual. Great power gains, dropped huge amount of weight. Also did pulley and pop charger at same time. Greatly increases power and attitude of the car, sounds great. The injen in my opinion sounds too much like a civic driving down the road, you know when you go man what is that guy thinking, lol. Hey whatever floats your boat, gotta say this combo really makes some real gains no b/s.

Lookin4myz,

Thats the first time I ever heard anyone say that Injen exhaust w/ Xerd headers sounds like a civic. My understanding was that that combo sounded great w/ a deep throaty race sound.
Any way with your exhaust combo are you getting the dreaded RASP sound? I have Xerd headers and will be buying the Injen exhaust soon and I'm sure my Z wont sound like a civic.

Well, if are you are interested in the total system, you might want to look into what DanF is doing at Clearimageautomotive. What you are doing is piecing a system together without any testing of it whatsoever. IF you are thinking about the entire system at one time, I would at least consider buying a system that is built and tested together.

With that said, you will probably want to consider the DC headers over the borlas, if you are sticking to that setup.

Sadly no...nothing to drink....You know what I mean though...I thought most of the companies making exhausts all have tips coming through one muffler.

No, waiting to install the Stage 3 SC from Stillen before I spend money on a dyno. I have seen plenty of charts in person with the stillen exhaust, so no need to. Most put out anywhere from 8 - 12 hp to the wheels

So even stillen is not a TRUE dual in the sense that I am describing it.
2 INDEPENDENT mufflers....does anyone make this setup for the Z?

Wouldn't two independent straight back pipes to mufflers cause less bends in the air flowing through and possibly create more power?

By the way setup looks great!

The Greddy does have two independent mufflers, and the Injen does too.

Im gonna go all Crawford i really believe its worth the money. Im gonna install the Crawford headers, Crawford high flow cats, Crawford plenum, as well as my injen exhaust. I decided to go with crawford on the headers instead of borla. Doug at Crawford is the best i talked to him for over a hour and i have never been happier he really knows his stuff.

Thanks Glen
