Default VIDEO: Kinetix Racing V.4 Plenum FLEXING!!! AHH!!

http://mambokingtn.tripod.com/engine.avi

Here's the thread where it is discussed.

http://g35driver.com/forums/showflat...sed&sb=5&part=

And this is what could happen if it can no longer flex, but blow.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....0&pagenumber=1

I would be scared to put this on my car. And this is the latest version of this plenum.

That is what people said when the v.2 was coming out. "It will be fixed, just wait for the v.2 and everything will be okay!" I, personally will wait until the v.12 when they smarten up and make it out of METAL!!

I would think that Kinetix is losing money from all of this.. first they would have to replace everyone's plenum ever since ver. 1.. and now their latest version is having problems, so they work on it some more and replace everyone's from ver. 1-4.. I would just think that it would make more business sense to spend more money up front to R&D the product and make sure most of the bugs if not all is gone, rather than risk damaging your name and a possible law suit in the process.. has anyone heard of any problems with the crawford plenums?

Yeah, I checked this morning and they cancelled my account for violating the terms of their agreement (Lycos), whatever that means. Probably too many people downloaded the file yesterday. Oh well!!! Any suggestions where to host the video.

Thanks

kinetix has to almost dying because of all the molds, remolds, reremolds, rereremolds, and returning all of their plenums.

And yet people keep buying from them? I guess some people just like the abuse.

The way I look at it: I'd MUCH rather the plenum flex a little bit than not. It has lots of pressure being applied to it from the intake if air. If it didn't flex outward, and were say, held down somehow, stress points would form. That upward pressure has to go somewhere; flexing or cracking... hopefully this one won't do both.

it should be ridgid... over years of flexing, it WILL crack, unless they created a new plastic. as time goes on, cold winter months where its brittle, a few hot summers to dry it out. if it flexes it will always have problems eventually. question is will it be in a month, a year, or a decade.

I did have to put high-temp "gasket maker" on my Crawford, it was not seal completely on the front left hand corner... and I did use two oem gaskets.. After the "gasket maker", it works fine..
