Default Intake Air Supplier on Bumper/Emblem

Well, after seeing the new Mercedes SLR Mclaren and the way the used the emblem as a air suplier, an idea came to mind. Opening a hole where the front emblem is, and place the intake tip right behind the hole, this will allow much more air into the intake, whithout worring that much about the problem with cold air intakes being that low (submerging under water). the emblem would then be placed on top of the whole so the car would not look bad with a showing hole on the fron bumper.

Just a thought...

Not a bad idea. The only problem with it is that I'm not sure you could get enough air through the stock emblem. Additionally, the multiple bends in the piping to make this work would really slow down the intake stream, possibly enough to result in a performance loss. Ideally, you want a straight, clean path from the filter into the manifold.

It would be a pretty cool project though.

may be an intake manufacturer could figure out a way to make this happen, so that the intake does not have to be bent so much

Looks not too bad, especially if it were painted body color or even left C/F on a darker color... but $500 for a plastic piece and a hole in the bumper?? Come on guys, I know its Mines stuff, but seriously...

you could just get it painted to match your bumper. CF is paintable. i don't think that would look bad at all! i should have pics of all my new goodies in about a week and a half. i'll let you know about the quality and fitment of the varis air duct. i hope they(bulletproof) haven't sold out yet, i plan on ordering it on monday.
