Default installed Injen - helix - dc sports..torque seems low ..ECU overcompensating ??

i just installed the injen cold air intake , dc sports ceramic headers , helic test pipes and the ses1985c injen cat back exhaust... to me it seems my low end torque is not what it used to be. i heard that the ECU possibly could be overcompensating for the larger airflow, thus lowering my torque. anyone have any ideas of what it is and what i could do to bring the torque back up ? im fairly new to tuning and just learning

I have essentially those same mods and was running very lean untill I sent my ECU off to Techno Square...... I am running a whole lot better now and gaine a lot of power back it seemed....

However I dyno'd with 255hp with the Injen setup you have and High flow cats..... after the Reflash and addition of a plenum I am very close to 270whp...

Ecu sent to California on tuesday 1:43pm local Georgia time......26.00 shipping with insurance of 700.00( recomended from TS) they recieved it and called me @ 12pm my time wednesday asking for my credit card info...... 620.00 they charged and I recieved it thursday at 4pm my time....a little late due to all the hurricanes coming twoards this state.....

I would do this.......

thanks for the info ... sounds like a good idea. i will definitely check into this. i was thinking of getting the crawford cats in hope that they will bring the "rasp" sound down a little. it is really loud with tests pipes, almost too loud. do you think this would bring the sound down ?? thanks again

redline,

Did you get your a/f ratio pre-cats or at the end of the tail pipe?

You have opened up everything quite a bit which can decrease low end TQ a bit due to the engine not being able to get enough fuel into the cylinders due to low vaccum. The TS reflash can help by adding some fuel to the equation. I was pretty amazed at how well my car performed in the low end post TS ECU, even after cams were installed. My 60ft times still went down!! Now its time for the brake fuse mod, some 17" wheels and DRs for the strip!!

what brake fuse mod?

seems like the ecu reflash is imperative...guess ill wait to put on headers and plenum until i have money for ecu reflash

what exactly do you have to give to TS besides the ecu...just a couple of dyno sheets?

pre-cats for the A/F always ...... I dont trust the probe.....

Techno-S said that the main part chainging the A/F the most was the CAT's......

They also said adding headers or a TB would not require a reflash( for me after the initial Reflash)..... the reason they said was that because the changes would be so small...... but it's only 125.00 for a second and up flash.... But if you are gonna be that picky I would send them a A/F print out of your car to get everything super fine tuned.....

I didnt realize how bad my A/F was untill I had it run with all my mod's below....also some one had a dyno pic with the A/F display....

Injen CAI, Kintetix Plenum, Crawfor Cats and Injen Exhaust..

I was in the 14's....... Techno put it to 12.5 to 1.... could have been a little higher maybe 13 to 1 but I didnt want to keep sending it back and forth...... especially since I dont have headers or Cams yet... I'll just wait till I have a better plan......

Also I have only had 1 flash so far......

gotcha...thanks...

currently i only have test pipes and injen exhaust

im putting on the crank pulley soon but i wont put on CAI, plenum or headers until i have enough to get the ecu reflashed

another question though--suppose i did put plenum and cai on without reflashing for a while...wouldnt it only hurt my car if i get into high rpm's all the time?

im a spirited driver but i dont think i bring it over 5000rpm enough to hurt the car
