I have the Invidia version 2 and love it. I bought a set and my girl ordered me a set to surprise me, so now I have 2 sets. The second set is for sale if your interested, the box is still sealed. I'm asking $1000 plus shipping. The sound is solid and tight but quiet enough to keep from getting tickets. Heres a pic of the set installed on my car.

PM me if your interested or have any questions.

The Borla true dual eliminates the need for a Y-Pipe correct? So all you have to add is cats?

Does Nismo eliminate the Y-Pipe as well? If so I'll pay a couple hundred more for Nismo and keep my warranty. :P

look at any vendor website and you'll see

and the exhausst has nothing to do with your warranty - in order to deny the warranty, they have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem you are asking them to fix or replace.

It's the piping in the shape of a "Y", coming after the CATS.

Something you dont need to be concerned about if you go Borla.

The Y pipe goes from the two cats and merges into a single pipe. The stock Y pipe stays on for Nismo and other non dual exhausts.

On Borla and most other exhausts now the Y pipe comes out and a pipe attaches to each cat. This means no bottleneck.

Regarding legality, aftermarket exhausts are not legal as long as you dont fiddle with the cats.
What people get tickets for are exhaust that make an excessive amount of noise. There is a set decibel level that you can be ticketed for if you go over. Some cops are carrying decibel meters now.
On the other hand most cops arent so they give you a ticket if THEY feel its too loud.
With the Borla you are safe. Its loud when you want it to be and quiet at idle with added deepness though.
I cant tell you how pleased I was with the sound of my Borla. I did not get tired of listening to it for months. What I like best is the constantly changing sound from idle to redline. Exotic!
The Nismo is a well made piece but it is pricey for what it is. It starts at the stock Y pipe back. It is not a true cat back exhaust. Not good if you plan on FI.
Bat If you want to drive my car with the Borla, just let me know.

the NISMO comes with a Y pipe....and anything that bolts to the factory Y pipe is a cat back since the Z also has a cat in the Y pipe

I guess I was thinking of the Nismo Weldina, which comes with no Y pipe...
You are right there.
However the z does not have a cat in the Y pipe.

Since you live in San Diego, I would have to say NO. None of the exhausts are legal. The cops will pull you over and if you don't have the CARB paper work and a CARB number stamped on the exhaust where you can show the officer you will get a ticket.
Speedracer is correct catback exhausts do not effect emissions and thus do not require CARB EO#. I was pulled over a year ago and given a gross polluter citation for my intake (which had a pending EO#). I was also written up for my exhaust and had to go to the BAR referee to have my car smogged. I didn't touch my exhaust and passed with no problems.

However cops seem to be pretty uneducated in emissions laws so you may get pulled over.

For some people, it's a plus but for me, it's a minus. And too many pipe connections--> more prone to exhaust leak. I was waiting for some better looking TD exhausts and now it seems like new Invidia G200 is the choice for me. I'm not into the hype of TD exhausts, but buying another Y-pipe for other non-TD catbacks were additional expense to me and I just didnt' want to do it. Invidia G200 has a Ti tip, which I LOVE, and the quality looks great. Gonna get it next spring.

What are the hp and torque gains with the Invidia G200? Has anyone other than the manufacturer done dyno tests?

What is the coloring on the tip of the exhaust. You know sort of blued. Are they supposed to be like that? Some motorcycle exhausts turn that color over time and resultant heating/cooling cycles.

Thanks.

I think that's the way many of the titanium tips are...

That's good to know, I was more concerned with passing emissions.
