Default Kinetix advice

hey there. My friend had an old V2 kinetix plenum lieing around so he let me have it... i know they had an issue of cracking by the 2 bolts in the center of the plenum. What do you guys think if i made some kind of bracket or something like a metal plate to cover both holes and make it stronger. They never version i believe doesnt have the 2 center bolts.
