Hatch not staying open in cold weather
I have noticed that since the weather has turned cold in the Northeast, my hatch will not stay open. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what was done to correct it?

I was ready to chalk up another issue to my list.

You could try removing the weight under the plastic cover under the hatch. I have the same problem but I have an aftermarket spoiler. I am going to investigate aftermarket lifts right after the New Year to try to resolve this.

the temp when mine wouldnt stay open was below zero, we dont get that much here. and you could tell it was defiinately due to the compressed air in the pistons. hell you could hear them straining to try and stay open. no big deal!!!! if you want to deal with the dealer then i know that there is a TSB that involves newer pistons.

use the 2 penny trick to make it pop open on the first try if you have that problem. you can do a search in this section and find the thread. i did it yesterday and it took about 5 min.

What the heck is the two penny trick?
I've got the same problem, but I chocked mine up to the added weight of the Veil Side V3 Wing I put on. I even took out the boyancy weight from under the trim, but it still wont stay up in any weather.
