Default Oil Change Help

My Roadster currently has 411 miles and the wife and I are taking a 3000 mile road trip to Texas.

Should I change the oil now with Mobil-1, or is the car okay to drive that distance on the original oil from the factory.

I am debating whether or not to even take the Z. Considering driving the Maxima instead. I want to break-in the Z gradually.

Thoughts?

Don't take the roadster yet. During the break-in, you want to be varying the speed and RPM of the engine more or less constantly. Just cruising on the highway can cause the rings and what not not to seat properly and potentially form a little ring at the top of the cylinder wall. Especially a trip of 3000 miles.

As for the oil change, sort of a moot point now.

Take the Maxima

Yep, take the Max and change the oil at 1,200 miles in the roadster. Then take her out and beat on her. Then change it again at 3,000 and every 3,000 miles after that.

Well took the Maxima, enjoying the cool weather down here in Padre Island.
