Hi everyone,

As most of you know, some of us '03 and '04 Z owners are experiencing this flaw in the fron-end suspension. I'm sure we're all familiar with the case.

After a few months of kindly trying to see if Nissan can help me (but to no avail), I went ahead and filed a complaint with the BBB AutoLine. They've been very helpful and notified me that Nissan Arbitration will get back to me on how we can resolve this case. So far it seems promising...

I was wondering if anyone could be kind enough to provide me their BBB case number if they happened to have gone to arbitration against Nissan and won their case. I currently drive an '04 and this issue started around 9K miles. If there are any other '04 owners that have won arbitration in this forum, I'd REALLY appreciate if you could provide me with a case number so I can bring some cases with precedent. You can email me if you don't feel comfortable sharing the case number. I don't need a name or anything...just a BBB case number for Nissan to reference to.

Keep me informed! I have an 04 track,at 5800 miles they replaced my trans and did an alinment. At 7355 they replaced my front tires and did another alinment. But on the 04 they are claiming that they are not affected!

 

Here's an update. I got a call today from the very helpful BBB rep and she informed me that Nissan has made an offer. They told her that supposedly they've teamed with Bridgestone Tires to come up with a "better" tire for the 350Z. They are willing to replace my two front tires with these "new" tires and also re-align my suspension to the TSB specs.

What do you guys think I should do? I was going to accept their offer but I thought it might be better to discuss it with some pros here first. I'm just afraid that this problem will re-occur after 5000 miles and I'll be in the same position as I am now. Any feedback would be appreciated.

 

Just a side note...it's amazing how the threat of arbitration will make Nissan finally realize their customers aren't happy....

I failed a lawsuit aginst Nissan about 5 months ago. They still have yet to respond to my lawyer. So he filed a montion in court that basically states if nissan does not answer us in 28 days we win by default. Well it has been 17 weekdays already.... I am betting Nissan's law department is so over saturated with cases they have not had a chance to even look at mine yet! HAHA!

What did you file your lawsuit for? The tire feathering or trans? I am thinking of going this route if push comes to shove.

 

mxpx_8: I was going to file something similar but I'm just going to take care of the tires/alignment and sell my car.

Well the deal is finally complete between me and Nissan. I actually misunderstood what the BBB agent told me. Nissan is actually going to send me a check for $600 and I'll be able to pick my own two front tires and get my front-end aligned by anyone I want. I'm hoping $600 should cover two front tires and an alignment (it should).

I probably could have been more aggresive and asked for more from Nissan, but this way I get to pick the tires and alignment shop and possibly sell my car in a few months (or keep it if this problem never comes back).

 

Breach of warranty on the feathering issue. The keep telling me there is nothing wrong with my car???

 

You could have sued them in court and won. Then you would not need to worry about the feathering returning, which it will.

Are you demanding that Nissan buyback the car? Replace the car?
A dollar payoff of some kind? ...minus the attorneys cut.
