Default What kind of torque wrench?

What kind of torque wrenches do you guys have?

I'm looking for a fair priced wrench that measures in/lbs, not ft/lbs. I'm looking to torque somethings under 100"/lbs.

I recommend at least Craftsman quality. I did a tranny swap with a crappy one and broke 2 bolts.

Go with the Craftsman in/lb torque wrench! Bought it when I initially installed my Kinetix V1 thinking I would never use it again. WRONG!

If you want to "fake it" because the maintenance manual specifies, buy a wrench based on price...you'll probably be in the backpark.

If you truely want to apply the correct torque, buy a quality wrench (manual or digital, it does not matter) and CALIBRATE! Regardless of what you buy, if you don't calibrate, don't bet on having an accurate torque. If you don't buy quality, don't bet on having the same torque when the weather changes.

get the digital snap on torque wrench. it measures everything and calibrates itself. if not digital you will need to calibrate it atleast once a year, and if you drop it? ooooooooo lol anyways i like the snap on digital. it also beeps and vibrates when you cant see.

Digitals aren't magic. They need periodic calibrations also.
For most automotive work, any quality wrench should be pretty close...close enough.

If you expand your search away from the generic craftsman brand, you should find plenty of in-Lb tools for the same price, features and warranty. Fyi: Decide what torque range you need because the wrenches sometimes loose some accuracy in top and bottom 5% of their scale.
