i was driving down the road and the music was on loud, my phone rang, and i turned off the radio and i noticed this squeaking noise in second. I put it in 3rd gear and the noise was gone. a friend told me it was coming from the rear, but the noise only happens when im driving, no sitting with clutch down in second. which is weird. anyways, im starting to hear it a lil in first gear too now, what could it be? the differential? i havent change the fluid in the differential since ive owned it, and im going to hit 28,000 miles...could it be that? how often do yall change the differential fluid? need help asap! the noise sounds like something rusted trying to turn with tons of friction. on or off the thottle. im all stock bty. i need to get these lil things done before i install turbo..

 

Yeah it's time to change the diff fluid. I would reccommend every 15-20k miles. Try that first b/c u need to do it anyways. Then we can find out if its that or something else.
