Default The term brake noise

I recently replaced my stock brake pads to Hawk HPS and bedded them (nice smell too!). In addtion, I changed out to Motul 600 and changed my stock brake lines to SS. I'm still using my stock rotors with 11,000 miles on them (not "turned").

I have this slight metal grind sound that can be heard driving at low speeds. Is this sound the brake "squeak" that everyone talks about using Hawk HPS pads? I'm thinking break squeak is suppose to sound like a squeak not a metal grind sound.

i know not many people always turn their rotors when they do a brake job, but i find it necessary when you switch out pads/compounds.

the reason being is that you already have cut grooves into the rotor, and since the rotors wont contur to the new pad, the new pad will try to contur to the rotor. this will cause the pad to vibrate because it is trying to fill in the old grooves.

thats my opinion though, not sure what else could be the problem.

That was what I was thinking, I figured I could get away with not turning the stock rotors since I planned to change rotors sometime in the near future.
