Window Question
Is anyone else having troubles with their windows not lowering when you open the door? Ever since the windows froze several days ago, both windows do not drop after the doors being opened. They do close and you can hear the windows moving up to seal. I highly doubt the windows are still frozen when I had it in the garage. Besides, I have lowered the windows manually anyway. I was curious if this is something that needs to be serviced.
I had heard of peoples windows not doing the auto procedure cause they were left slightly down without them knowing it. but when they brought them down and up, it fixed it.
but if they dont move down when you open the door, how can they move up to seal?

Hope you get it fixed.

When I open the door, it used to drop and now I notice it doesn't. I can manually push the window down a half inch to wear it should drop to. Then, when I close the door, it reseals normally. For some reason, the window isn't dropping, but the motor is still working. The window doesn't seem to hit the door frame when I close the door without the window dropping. Also, this is with the windows all the way up. I don't have they cracked open. Anyone experiencing this in freezing weather?
You should get it fixed since it will be under warrenty, but it is encouraging that you will not do damage to the car if it does not lower. Someone else posted that their windows froze and it did not hit the frame. Also, if you notice, pull on the handle and open the dorr quickly in one fast motion; you will notice that you cleared the frame, before the window got a chance to go down. I noticed this when I once rushed into the car because it was freezing out.
The windows WILL just catch the frame when frozen - not enough to keep the door from opening/closing but enough to just catch the underside of the frame which might knock the paint off after awhile. Mine froze this AM - both driver's and passenger's side.

Maybe it is perhaps of the freezing weather. I did wash my car 3 days ago and perhaps there is still some ice in there that hasn't ever melted. I thought it might be warm enough in the garage to melt it, but maybe not.
I GOT MY TOURING 6SPD 12-3-02, THE DRIVERS SIDE DOES THE SAME THING, IT ONLY GOES DOWN A SMIDGEN. THEY SHOWED ME 3 OTHER 350S AND THE DRIVERS SIDE ALWAYS DID THE SAME THING. THE DRIVERS SIDE WOULD ONLY DROP A 1 MM. THE NISSAN REP WAS THERE AND HE SAID IT WAS NORMAL. AS LONG AS IT DOESNT HIT THE FRAME. I CAN MOVE MY DRIVERS SIDE MANUALLY TOO. I KNOW ITS A PROBLEM, BUT UNTIL THERES A SERVICE BULLETIN, WE WILL GET NO RESULTS.
We just had our first snow storm in St. Louis and I have experienced the same problem with my windows not lowering enough to clear the frame. The first time it happened I thought I almost broke the window! I contacted my dealer and they did not have any solutions other than to say that it is normal when it gets that cold outside and to just be careful. I am going to continue to follow up with the dealer to get this addressed by Nissan so I will keep you posted on results.
WHEN ITS COLD OUT BE CAREFUL!!!

Just happened to me. The drivers side got stuck frozen. It lowered enough to clear, but barely. The I went into the car and lowered it with the switch. Now, the drivers side lowers and raises significantly less then the passanger side. Like maybe half as much. It clears the door frame though so I'm not too worried. Is there a setting that went out of wack and needs to be adjusted? If I push down on the drivers window a bit, it lowers to the proper height but when I close the door and then re-open it, it does not lower as much as it did before getting frozen.
well... what can they do? the door seal is the only way to not have a frame around the window... which you dont want right? they could put a more powerful motor maybe... there really is no simple fix for this. it is a conceptual problem, not a design flaw. in most cases you can sit here and say, this is what they should do to fix it, its just a matter of doing it. but there is no possible way to fix this.
I'm not upset that it got stuck. I knew it would a few times a year, but I am upset that it is misaligned now and now that it is freed up it does not do down as much as it used to. If this happens lets say about 5 times a year here in Toronto, does that mean I need to take it to the dealer to have the door panel removed and the window aligned 5 times a year????
