Default Front wheel stud replacement

Can the front wheel studs be replaced without removing the hub? I stripped one of the wheel studs when attempting to install my new wheels as the supplier sent me the wrong size lug nuts because they are stupid idiots who like to take it up the poopiechute. I went to my local Nissan parts establishment and acquired a new wheel stud. Alternatively I was considering buying one of those tap/die thread repair kits from Sears or Pep Boys and trying that if it is not possible to replace the wheel stud easily.

Apparently the rear wheel studs can be replaced without removing the hub. Before I jack up the car and take the wheel off I thought I would ask to make sure I am not wasting my time.

How did this go? I need to replace a stud in my front wheel as well... however I was not the one to screw it up. Dealer said it would be $130ish, so I opted to buy the stud/bolt ($6.XX) and plan to make it my first DIY for the Z (well as far as repairs go anyhow).

It was simple. The hub and dust shield has a cut-out so you can pop the bolt out the back. Because my car was relatively new / low miles the lug bolt came out without much drama. It will take you longer to jack up the car and remove/replace the wheel than it will to change out the bolt.

So all you removed to gain acess to the stud, was the wheel, and rotor? Then hamered it out? I am not sure I want to be touching any parts of my 03's front suspension with it still attached to the car. I have about 18,000 miles on it... How many did you have? Its gotta be in there pretty good by now.
