Has anyone encountered the same problem before on a new 2005 350Z Enthusiast model? In 3rd or 4th gear, I would frequently hear a chain like grinding noise that last for about 2-3 seconds. It does not happen in any other gear and it does not happen every time, but happens pretty frequently. No, it is not me grinding the clutch as that would sound very different.

Some of my friends said that it may be the clutch just breaking in as I only have about 300 miles on the car, however, I have owned 4 brand new cars in my life and have never heard this before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

not normal...I would go to dealer ASAP.
