the caps and exclamation do not do justice to the squeal I get from my front AP 4-piston big brake kit. the kit was bought new, with drilled/slotted rotors, ferodo 2500 pads (quiet, street compound). i took the time to bed them in for several hundred miles according to brake pros. instructions. i later took them to the track and after a day they started to squeal. well, it got super loud by day two,

the speed shop that installed them can't figure it out - not sure how hard they tried - and say they've never seen squealing so bad. also, i notice that i even get some squeal when i simply turn at low speeds (indicating there might be some play somewhere and that the pad is rubbing at odd times).

please help. my car sounds worse than the worst new york city bus and is horribly embarassing.....

btw, nrakes seem to work great.

 

reguardless of the brake pads, the AP Brakes are pretty loud...

 

I know a bunch of guys that have AP without any excessiv e squealing and mine is out of control. Why do you say that Ap are very loud?

Any update on fixing the squeal? I just bought a Z with AP 4 piston on all 4 wheels, huge kit, makes an even HUGER sound.

The guy driving the city bus holds his ears when I come up to a stoplight next to him, plus they are super touchy...

I just bought 2005 350Z and the squealing on the brakes is horrible, I keep taking it to the dealer but the only thing they have done is reduced the squealing they have done this for the third time and still squealing. Any advice on what the problem could be.
