No ideas man, Ive never had to reset mine. But I do have some advice for others out there trying to just clean theirs. I took my original motor apart again and cleaned it again. Then when I finished I used some automotive grease and greased everything that touches together. Now the motor works a lot smoother. I just did this today so I'll let everyone know how long it lasts.

Hey everyone... I was reading through the first few pages because I'm seeming to have issues with my windows all of a sudden. I didn't have time to read through all 11 pages cause I'm here at work but just wanted to see if someone could answer this for me...
***symptoms- my car has been sitting for 6 months not used because of a suspended license ;] anyway I just started driving it again and it seems both windows are bogging down and having problems. The passenger window seems to roll up all the way and NOT drop down when the door is opened... the window also rolls up OVER the top of the car if you know what i mean.... Kind of like the top of the window is on the outside of the top of the car just a tad. Now the passenger window rolls up very very slowly and is seeming to be closer and closer to death. The drivers side is doing the same as it bogs down but not as bad.
Would I just need to open everything up and clean out that carbon gunk for this type of problem? I'd appreciate any responses to my issues.
p.s. one more thing, when i do the auto roll up on the passenger window with the main driver switch it goes up at 1/5th the way then rolls right back down... so i can't use the auto roll up...
Thanks everyone!
-Josh

Read the last two or three pages. That where the answers come in. One of the answers is to go to Autozone and buy a used motor. It cost around $120 but it's gurantee for life.

I got my motor and regulator from worldpartsexpress.com The price has gone up since I replace mine right after the warranty expired (wouldn't you know it)but it's still pretty good...$169 for either motor. The left regulator is only $54....the right one is $88. I guess it has to do with the quantity they sell.

Not that difficult of a job. If you have a service manual and are pretty good with your hands you should be able to do it. I'm not that mechanically proficient but I did it with no problems. In part because I was motivated by save about $300 over going to the stealership. May want to get a few extra plastic tabs/grommets and stuff because 1 or 2 are bound to break when you take the door panel off. I had to take the window out to replace the motor and regulator. I did it by myself but it might be a good idea to have an extra pair of hands when you put the window back in and try to line it up.
Took me about 1-1/2-2 hours because I wanted to be careful making sure I knew how everything work. Could probably do it in 30-45 minutes now.

I replaced my motor today and it all went smooth. The window was going all the way up and then half way back down after I used the auto roll-up. I used the re-set button and it stopped doing that, however, I was wondering if its an easy fix to get it to do the window burp. Any ideas on how to do it?

My buddy the other day rolled down my window and it couldnt go back up so I was freaking out. So I was searching the net to see how to fix it and found this forum. Im so glad that you guys made a step by step guide with pictures on how to fix the window motor. Took me and a friend a couple hours to do but it wasn't so bad. The only thing to note are making sure the window is on the rail, we forgot about that and had to take apart the panels 2 times.

Well, add me to the list. An 03 on the drivers side.
I tried the cleaning and it is still messed up.
I blame global warming. Clearly that is what's causing the motor to go bad.

well my window motor went out to.so i took it apart with the directions from this form and then remembered how we used to rebuild rc car electric motors. first you change the brushes then you grind down the comm.well i couldn't find any brushes that were the same size but the ones in the motor didn't look to bad so i ground the comm down using a grizzly mini lathe polished it out and then cleaned everything using electrical parts cleaner put it back together and it works better than it did when the car was new.
