WTF, have an 05 ZR with a 6Spd. Happens every few weeks, the dam needle sticks and sometimes doesn't work at all. A few minutes later it works fine. BTW, TCS was on, never messed with it!

Hmm... have a variation of this with my speedo. Periodically, the needle will drop all of a sudden when I'm traveling at a constant speed. Can't replicate it at will, so warranty work is out of the question at this point.

 

The light sensor in the tach gage is being hit by sunlight...

Close your top...problem solved. This problem has yet to happen to me since it is cloudy most of the time here.

I have heard about this problem...and that was what was the cause.
