Mobil 1 syn and Nissan Filter. Oil Changes done @ Nissan Dealer Around 4K miles or 4 months. I usually hit the Months before the miles so I sometimes get it done too soon. I guess it doesn't hurt even if it is a waste of money. Like right now I am nowhere near needing to have it changed, but the car will be sitting for winter so I probably should change it Right??

Mobil 1 ?????????
Just FYI, Mobile 1 is not a fully syn. product. It is a blend. There are only 3 TRUE fully syn products. They are:
Redline
Amsoil
Royal Purple
Sorry to hurt your feelings if you are running that "full syn" Mobil 1. And yes, I am fully prepared to get flamed. I only ask that before you jump down my neck, please do your research.
Thanks

Is it Ok to Switch it up again? Go from Regular oil to Mobill1 to Royal Purple? Does it even matter? I'm at 26k Miles. Started Mobil 1 @ 10k miles. I know the owners manual does not recommend syn oil for this car.

with a synthetic i've gone as much as 7k miles on a change, not on my z as i haven't had it long enough yet but will probally go for 5-6k miles...
It is a waste of money doing changes every 3k especially less IMHO. Synthetics, specifically true synthetics can last. A C5 vette owner had a sample of his oil analyzed at 3500 and then changed his oil 4500 miles later and sent in another sample. The two samples were nearly chemically identical except for slightly high carbon readings that were still within spec. The oil hadn't broken down even after 8k miles. This was with mobil1 BTW.

I just let the dealer do mine... it barely costs more than doing it myself...
Valvoline oil (10W30 i think)
OEM Nissan filter
guaranteed in 30 mins or less... they fill my tires and top off all fluids and do a 14 point inspection.... all for <$30 bucks.

I was using Mobil1 but when I got my mods done my mechanic insisted I use fossil oil from now on. So I use Valvoline VR1 racing oil 20w50, which is what he uses at his shop. He insists on Nissan filter too. But I just changed my oil a few days ago and used a Bosch filter. Going to Nissan dealer was inconvenient.

I heard something funny on CNN a few weeks back. They were talking to someone from the oil industry, asking them why synthetic oil prices where going up and they said, "Because synthetic oil is made out of real oil." Huh? Weird.
