My advise is to pull the front wheels off the car and inspect the brake pad thickness firsthand to determine how much life you have left. It's the only way to be certain. Otherwise, you're stuck on a routine maintenance schedule that may have you replacing (paying for) brake pads when you don't need to.

I've heard people change out their brake pads on the Z anywhere between 10K and 15K miles. I have put about 11K miles on my Z and the brake pad life is about 50%. I believe they are the stock Z brake pads, too.

I went with Hawk Replacement pads. 90% less dust than the original pads.

Ditto on the Hawks. Well worth the few bucks.

Re pad life, as always, depends on your driving habits. After reading a lot I thought mine would be mostly gone, but no they were all there. I still put in the Hawks anyway, just to get rid of the dust. In normal non-abusive driving I would expect you can go well over 15K miles on the OEMs, but don't count on it, it is easy to check.

JVD Graphics makes them. Just do a search for him and drop him a PM. VERY reasonable price and in 2.5 years no problems with them peeling or discoloring. I recommend them highly.

I got them also, red calipers, white lettering. They look great and extremely good quality. No pealing, no problems. Make sure to put them on right becuase you don't get a second chance...

OEM calipers powder coated red and then lettering :

He is a really great guy. You send him your stuff, he does an amazing job, and returns it well packaged (packaging by his wife). The web site has sample picts...
