Question Window, auto-up broken? Help

When I make my window go all the way up automatically, it goes up, shuts, then comes down about 2 inches. Also before when I shut my door it would then shut the window a little more but now it doesnt do that. Any idea whats wrong? And its only the drivers window, passenger window works perfectly fine.

bad window motor/regulator. hopefully you still have some warranty and get it fixed for free. it's not cheap if not under warranty.

there are several other threads on here about the same problem.

i had it too. eventually it will stop working. if it does stop, punching the door while pushing the button seems to make it work.

I just had this problem fixed on my 2006. I was told there is a button on the inside of the door, under the door panel, that you can use to reset the window. I guess the Z is known for this problem. My dealer knew exactally what to do when I told him the symptoms. Its just a matter of rolling the window up and resetting the switch. They say you can only do it 3 or 4 times before they end up having to replace the regulator. Dont let me down warranty "fingers crossed."

To my knowledge I thought the window switch is on the motor, not the regulator. So why would you have to replace the regulator if the reset switch is bad?
