Default How many filters does a stock Fuel pump have

Im a Automotive Technician and after some trouble shooting Iver determined that my injectors are clogging up with debre. Most likely from the fuel tank passing through the 1 sock filter on the bottom of the pump. Ive read that the stock pump has a sock and a micro filter but if it does mine is missing the micro filter. I need input from somebody that have taken apart there stock fuel pump as Im AM NOT going to replace a perfectly good fuel pump just for a filter

If i need a filter I will take my stock line and have it modified at a shop to connect to a metal in line filter unless somebody can suggest another method of adding a in line filter. Also if anybody could tell me what there fuel pressure is at idle that would be great. I know the specs are around 50psi at idle but mine is closer to 60psi.

Pretty sure there are 1 or 2 inline filters as well. Not 100% on that though as it may have been an aftermarket thing, but pretty confident I read the stock z has some inline filters.. so you may have to worry about those too...
Someone should chime in and set it all straight though.

Okay just one sock on the pump just as mine has. Although when I took mine apart it was pretty dirty. Funny how Nissan seems to think that this one sock will keep all debre out. After cleaning my non serviceable(********) sock debre continued getting into the injectors shorty after. Problem is if there's a tear i didn't see nobody sells just the sock which puts me back at square one with out modifying the line.

I don't think I want you working on my car if you can't even install a fuel filter yourself.......

And yes, you only have the sock on the pump. No other filters. You're the first person I've heard of having a problem with it.

I wouldnt want to working on my car either. Your lucky if you can get a 50-60 psi line to hold fuel pressure with nothing but hose clamps. Do it right the first time or theres no point in doing it.

Well i guess im just thats lucky that some jack *** was messing with the pump before I got the car.

I'll sell you that sock if you want...it's an extra fuel pump assembly that I bought a little while back...PM me with a fair price.

thanks for the offer but im just going to go ahead and have the line custom made by a shop that does specialty hoses so i can just service the filter every now and then.
