Default Optima Red Top..

I had one of these for my other car and I loved it. Im trying to get one for my 03 Z but i went into AutoZone and the correct model isnt in their system. Does anyone know what the correct OPtima battery size is for our cars?

Default help :/

I'm reviving a super dead thread, searching ftw.

Anyway, I have an 03 Z as well, and I just bought the Optima Red Top 75/35. Guy from Pepboys said it was the right one. I was trying to install it today, only to have my terminals come up short. Isn't there another battery that's exactly the same but with the terminals on the opposite side of the battery? I think it's the 34R.... but is it the same as the 75/35? Or are extensions my only option to get this battery running????? I want this battery and none other... especially because I plan to install a sound system. Thanks for the help guys.

I'm surprised you didn't run across this thread when you searched...

Hey Dave, no actually I did find that thread... but that's a yellow top. I'm looking into the red top... his posts were right where they were supposed to be to be connected to the terminals. But the Red Top has posts on the opposite side of the battery... making connecting the terminals impossible without some kind of extension. So I was asking the community if installing the Red Top had to be done with extensions, or if there's an alternative battery that has reverse posts.... but thanks man!

Zombie thread revived...

Red Top battery has their terminal posts reversed and sitting on one edge of the battery. The positive cable isn't long enough to reach back there now. I guess the only other option is to get extensions, if possible.

So a warning to those who are shopping around, be prepared when buying the Red Top and make sure the posts are reversed or get cable extensions.
