"Hyper Vibration" during Down shifting
Have you ever experienced a 1-2 second spurt of what I term "hyper vibration" coming thru the gear shift when you are coasting after a down shift?
I seem to get intermittent cases of hyper-vibration after I've completed a downshift at high RPMs and I'm coasting as I approach a traffic light say 1/8 mile ahead. I've reported it to the Dealer last time I had the Z in but got a "could not replicate" from the service guys.
It only lasts a second or so. Do you think it's anything to worry about? It is not accompanied by a corresponding spike in RPMs.

I just installed the plenum spacer and have noticed the degree of vibration has increased a bit. i guess it's the result of the added HP. But you are right . I'm not going to worry about it either!

Also, if the hyper vibration was causing significant problems leading to costly repairs we would have heard about it long ago. The fact that many Z owners can identify with it but do not go on to say that it resulted in huge repair bills is a clear sign that it is NOT an issue!

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but if I do a high rpm downshift with the VDC on, I can feel the VDC catching the brakes to prevent wheel spin and causes the front brakes to become very jerky, like mega ABS, for just a second, and it causes a pretty nasty vibration. When I turn off VDC, it's as smooth as glass.

It then disappears and I'm returned to what i would term a "normal" frequency and sound level for the car.
Hard to describe as you can tell from my feeble attempt above!
