Remote starter on a Z with a manual tranny?

Remote starter on a Z with a manual tranny?
I have a manual Z on order and I am starting to plan the upgrades. (It's a sickness, I can't help it doc!)
I would like to have a remote starter, but I have never had one on a manual transmission car before. I can easily see how you could bypass the "clutch pressed" safety switch, but is there any way to ensure that the car is not in gear.
I know the car can't shift by itself. What I mean is, can a remote starter be set up to only crank if the transmission is in neutral. I just don't trust myself to NEVER leave it in gear by accident.
Has anyone done this?

Just always remember to keep your car in neutral w/ the E brake set. I recommend paying a little more to get one with long range (1000 ft or more).

i used a magnetic reed switch to sense if the shifter is in 1st gear. took me a few hours to make brackets and make sure that it was aligned straight and worked every time. I only park in first or neutral so the other gears weren't a concern.

That's a good point. I could fabricate my own gear shift position sensor.
It is starting to sound like quite a project though. I will need to
Bypass the imobilizer
Bypass the neutral safety
Detect that the car is in neutral
Maybe i will just take my truck when it is really cold. That already has a remote start.
