Oil Related Problems ?
Ok, here we go... Now that we established who's gonna use what kind of oil and when. I have a question for all of the fellow Z owners that have there Z for more than 3000 miles and had 1 or more oil changes. Now this question is for those who switched to SYNTHETIC OIL ONLY.
Do you notice a difference in performance? ( does it run any different ( bad, better,or the same)
Please state how may oil changes you had so far.
Do you recommend the switch , or does it even matter.
----
I know we've been touching on this issue for quite some time, however, my beef is with Nissan not condoning the use of synthetics. So , I rather hear from those who have the Z AND have been using synthetics.

Mobil 1 user for 15 + years. It's API rated for service codes that are up to the minute. I don't worry about it, I want the engine protection; period.
My Z has had a change at 1000, 2500 and will get a third at 5000. I always use the OEM filters though. If there ever is an oil related warranty problem, Nissan can't say it was related to someone else's filter and weasle out of a repair.
I see no performance difference, but previously I lived in New York State and starting a cold car at -16F was my main reason to switch. Here it's not nearly as cold and the Z is garaged.
