Power Steering fluid

Power Steering fluid
Hey guys,
It seems like we have discussed synthetic fluids for almost every system in our Z except for power steering. Is synthetic the way to go for power steering? Pro's/Cons?
Thanks for your input.

I believe the power steering fluid is the one instance in which nissan says specifically DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC. Read your owners' manual... I think you'll see what I'm talking about. There must be a reason for this. It's not the usual "we recommend blah blah blah..."

Hey Mika
Actually the manual says nothing about the power steering fluid. However, I think I will use Nissan's fluid since I see no advantage in paying more for others. Besides, Redline seems to be the only major synthetic manufacturer that makes it.
For brake fluid, on the other hand, it says "Do not add synthetic fluid". But if you read the statements preceding it, it talks about not reusing old fluid, etc. because it may ruin the brakes. It does not say you can't USE synthetic fluid, just not to ADD to the existing fluid. This is how I am reading it. However, you must be sure to use fluid that is DOT 3 compatible. This includes DOT 4 because it exceeds the standards of DOT 3 and so therefore usually states on the bottle or website that it's DOT 3/DOT 4 compatible.
I hope this helped and did not confuse the issue. Either way, as usual, thanks for your reply.
