Lightbulb URGENT! 5AT problem! Please read before car goes to Nissan.

Ok guys I have a pretty serious problem. My 5AT is stuck in manual mode. Where it would normally read what gear I'm in its blank. When I try to push it over to D mode it says its in neutral. When I moved it over to manual mode I think it got stuck between shifts. Shift lock obviously doesn't work. I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and that didn't work. Its an electrical/mechanical problem. I think the ECU wants to go in gear but something on the trans is physically stuck in manual mode. Has anyone had this happen to them and can anyone offer any advice? The car is in my driveway now and Nissan roadside is going to come get me when I call them back. I'd prefer to fix it here though obviously.

Well, it was indeed a phyiscal problem and not an electrical or ECU problem. My shifter was stuck in a gate that didn't exist. It went diagonally across the D->M gate and ended up stuck in limbo. Upon removing the interior panels and the shifter assembly it was a simple fix. No problems here.
