Default Can You let me know who was your Service Advisor?

Or Technician who fixed your squeak/creak, I need to have this done & they can't find out what to do on my car so I could appreciate some guidance on this so that I don't have to go back for this problem 15 more times.

The service advisor was James Carter and the tech was Paul. Originally the creak was from the passegner side. BUT I think the driver side may be creaking now too. It's hard to tell. Ask them to check both sides.

Guys,

Had the exact same problem, cricket sounding squeak from the passenger side.

Its something loose in the rear axle or suspension joint. My dealership basically tightened everything, and the rear axle to the specified (I believe) 200lb/ft on a torque wrench.

Noise gone for the most part, except in reverse for like a split second. Other than that, its gone (it used to be in first and second gear when I release the clutch pedal too).

I can live with that. I think its jsut as simple as having them tighten and secure all rear connections. Its does NOT have to do with wheels themselves or the rear brakes.

Hope this helps.,

I've got the same problem as VandyZ - a squeak that seems to be coming from the engine compartment when I let the clutch out and hit the gas in 1st. It only does it when I first start driving but goes away after the car is driven for a little while. Since the noise started a couple weeks after I had put my grounding kit on, I thought it was rubbing against something, but I took a look and didn't see anything obvious. I plan on taking it to a dealer in the Charlotte, NC area in the very near future and I will let everyone know what they say.

Took the car in today and had a hard time duplicating the problem. The damn thing did it most of the way there but when i got to the dealer I could only get it to make the noise a couple of times. Anyway, the tech wasn't sure what the problem was, but from the little he heard he thought it might be a bushing in the driveshaft rubbing when it is engaged with the clutch. I don't know a whole lot about engines, so I took his word for it. He told me that he didn't think it was anything to worry about but he wanted to look into it further if it continues to get worse. Sorry guys/gals I was hoping that I would have a fix for you.

I found the cricket!! The rear hatch, passenger side, close to the roof, has a plastic portion that's clipped to the hatch. It had popped it's clip causing the squeek. I popped it back in, popped it back out and popped it back in. It's too easy to pop out.

I'll have to see if the dealership can tighten it up.

I have a loud squeaking too when the car loads like from a start or between shifting gears when I accelerate.. It only comes from the right rear near the suspension area... What should I tell my dealer to do??

I have the same problem, the Tech heard it yesterday and I am leaving it there today for them to try and fix, so we will see.

I have the same problem. Mine has been at the dealer for two full days and I have a loaner until they can fix the problem. They can definitely hear it, but they cant find it. They did fix another noise that they heard while looking for this one, so that is good I guess. So for now I am a Big Truck Driver, rolling in a quad cab Frontier.

Default Okay this is what has happened.

I went in about 2 weeks ago, the tech from Nissan came in & he had someone from Japan who had to observe it. They had to put it on an alignment rack & get up under it to try to hear where it was coming from.. THey did that , then took the axles apart repacked, greased, & retorked it.. But they told me that it would cure it, but that may be temporarily so they ordered me new axles & will take my old ones back to examine them. I am leaving in a minute to have the axles replaced. I hope this does it finally.

Nothing really happened at the dealer, they think it might be the axles and gears having some play, apparently they had the same issue with the Z31's which they fixed by tightening the hub nut to a higher torque, which they tried with mine but it still did it, so he is going to talk to Nissan and see if they have any other input or to order new axles.

Yes, they did that and actually went a little tighter than Nissan told them and it is still doing it, not as bad but still there.

Default I got my suspension repacked & retorked.

& that did silence it, but they went on & replaced my axles & it is gone.. Z6, where did you take your car to, mine was at Torrance Nissan, excuse me, Power Nissan Torrance. You should ask for Jeff Marvin, he handled my car & they know what was done to get rid of it.

It took a while, but now its done.

OK, sounds good... At Glendale nissan they went ahead and ordered me new rear axles. I guess that's the cure for this problem, they said they have had similar problems with several other Z's and have contacted NNA, they figure a recall should be out in the next several months..
