Default Clicking or clunking sound after hard driving

Has anyone else noticed this:

After driving the car down the freeway and doing some full-throttle blasts through the gears, I get off the freeway and stop at the light. Then the "clicking" or "clunking" starts. It gets progessively louder the longer I sit at the light. I have yet to take the car in for service and would like to have an idea of what this may be so that the tech's don't pass it off as nothing. Or is it nothing? Any help on the matter is appreciated.

Probably the exhaust pipes expanding and contracting. After driving.. if you park the car.. and hear the same kind of sounds.. thats what it is.

Flynnibus, I get that exact effect. My question is whether or not this is normal, or warrants being serviced?

Its normal. I think it lessens as the car gets older.

Default Nope, not the exhaust

This sounds like some kind of a switch (albeit a loud switch), rather than any kind of metal being stressed due to thermal expansion/contraction. And it's not the brakes. I don't even touch the brakes for much of anything, and if they made a noise like that, I would be a little scared.

I seem to remember reading something about this situation a while back, but I can't remember what the outcome was. A resetting fuel pump maybe? I can't seem to find the thread on the topic, which is why I posted a new one. Oh well. Thanks for the help, guys.
