Default 2006 squeak

i ran a few searches, but only came up with results in the FI section...

i have an 06 touring with about 3k miles...many times when i put the car in reverse, usually on a hill, i hear this very noticable squeaking, almost like my brakes are shot....

its quite noticable and i have no clue where it's comming from? Anyone have similar issues ?

i have an MT, it cant be my brakes, on account that it only happens when im going in reverse...no braking, not that i think.... im reversing up a driveway that goes downhill, and a long annoying squeak is present, not always, but alot, especially on that hill. Actually, i never really hear the squeak at all aside from that..

Cant be the brakes, only 2.9k miles?

I'd definitely take it into the dealer if you think you can replicate the problem with them present.

Probably nothing to worry about though.

Last oil change, i brought it to the dealer, they reported they could not replicate the sound, and checked everything, to find no issues.

Yet the squeak is still there! Sometimes very loud! What can be causing this? I dont think it's the clutch cuz sometimes in neutral going down a hill (backwards) , the car will squeak....

Anyone else have this problem?

Does it stop when you apply the brakes? I had a VW that squeaked only when the brakes were cold and moving in reverse. When you tapped the brakes the noise would stop. Dealer said that the stock brake pads were a high performance material and that it wasn't unusual. It went away when I had the brakes overhauled.
