engine bay!!! i dotn know why the hell its knocking but for soem strange reason when i turn the A/c off it knocks like crazy(while at idle). Anybody happen to know what the hell is wrogn with it? Also, if u go to the rear of the car u can hear the knocking coming through the exhaust. Any Help would be greatly appreciated because the ***** at nissan said nothign was wrong with it!

How many miles on the car ?? Is is possibly ur A/C Comp. Clutch ? There may be a prob with it that makes itself known when it is not under a load. Many times a sound will travel from one point to another making it difficult to pinpoint, nother words the sound u hear at the exhaust could be originating from elsewhere. Does it do it at idle ? What u can do is get a 4 foot piece of vacuun hose and use it as a stethascope to pinpoint it. Need less to say be careful u dont NEED a doctor by getting to close to a belt.

 

check your oil.

That's how my problems with the engine started out. I heard a loud clattering type noise coming from the engine. Shortly after that I realized there was no oil in the engine.

 

dood i just went to get my oil changed beacuse i heard the knocking noise to and there was not even a quart of oil in my car. im glad to hear im not the only one with this problem, i was told its not gonna last more then anouther six months. but 7 year full coverage warrenty kicks *** so... new motor, im kinda hoping it breaks.

 

CONFIRM CONFIRM CONFIRM in writting what they found weather ur warrantied or not

 

i use 93 gas so im ok there. I jsut got an oil change so that shoud be ok. This is really frustrating. Im thinking about taking it to a non nisssan dealership and maybe they will find an unbiased solution.

i want to get past it...but i cant! I realize our engine is going to rumble but i dotn wanna hear popping noises. Makes my car sound like a P.O.S
